Within Process, there will be short and easy to read run downs of content from the Process website. Taking infomation about curretn design research and indurty projects, inviting a practicing designer to repsond to the work and adding some info ‘goodies’, we create a design zine that should be of great intrest to the designer or design student.

Here is a diagramtical expression of the proposed system.

The design research articles will consist of Honours student work, Masters student work, PHD thesis’s and industry based case studies.

Summery of meeting:

Guest Editors could involve designers in curating the work - but it may be hard to ask for the commitment. Better to develope the publication first, gather the momentum, then ask to get on board.

We are looking at a broader context than just design research, our strength is that we can create interest by exploring both research and application. It’s the process that we want to feature.

We’ve based out branding from an Anti Design standpoint. The publication shouldn’t be verly designed, as the contents is not glamourised but meaningful and thought provocing.

From this standpoint we create a publication that should be a vessel for current design research and findings in the industry.

Process is a publication for the brain; a resource for the designer with a penchant for knowledge. A discourse on design research and the process of completing a design job. Founded by Nick LeMessurier and Chris Besley, each issue of Process will aim to give the designer an insight into the feilds latest research and projects.

Process aims to connect the feild of Design Practice with the feild of design research by creating a publication that meets half way. A research document that’s not all text, that’s not all pictures and not all fluff.
